An Update

I know, I know, I'm still an incredibly slack blogger - but there is a lot on my plate at the moment! and that lot on my plate kind of feels like a mountain of gluten-y goodies threatening to kill me, haha.

Since I have been asked by a lot of people, I thought I'd give you all a little update.

Jesse and I are in the final final stages of getting everything sorted for our visa. Our friends and family are madly writing statutory declarations to prove that we have a "genuine relationship" (you know, in case we just wanted to go through all of this paperwork for the fun of it). Then once all of those are done, it's time to have everything authorised and then express shipped to Jesse so that he can get his medical, put everything together, add the medical receipt and it's off to Washington.

It's my every hope that he's here for Christmas but we just don't know - and for a control freak that's incredibly stressful

The other stress I've talked about that everyone keeps asking me about is more than just one thing. Health issues are one - not relating to Jesse or I (close family and friends already know this, so don't worry - nothing else has happened), work issues, stress, stress and more stress.

Oh, and then the evil lovely Australian Government decided that they needed to put visa prices up again. Just as we are about to pay the fee, they add an additional $600. Yeah. $600 might not sound like a big deal, but when it's already costing you thousands of dollars - it's the cherry on top of the gluten filled cake threatening to inflict insane amounts of pain.

I can not wait to be with Jesse and we are still doing this. Hopefully soon I will have way better news to share with you - and recipes. My lack of recipes as of late is due to my lack of baking skills. Apparently a stressed baker is as good as a invalid baker.

Fingers crossed.

  1. *hugs* Things will fall into place, eventually.

    1. Thanks Jamie! I know they will, I just hope it's very soon!

  2. Fingers crossed xx

I hardly remember the VISA process because I've blocked it from memory! But I know it took at least 3 months to get back to us, and the paperwork was horrendous!

The end result is worth it x

    1. Thanks Tracey! We're hoping the visa process will come through quite quickly as we have everything done and simply need it to be processed - but you never know! We know of people who have had it finalised in 3 weeks and others in 6 months!

  3. Life comes first so don't stress- we'll still be here :) Hope everything turns out the way you want it too!

    1. Thanks Bek, you're a sweetheart! I sure hope so!!!
