Recipe: Chocolate Banana Raw Bites

Almond Chocolate Banana Raw Bite Recipe - Gluten Free, Sugar Free, Vegan Snack

Proof of raw bite nomming.
I'm often incredibly busy - rushing around from here to there, at work meetings, blog meetings, events, out at activities on the weekend - so naturally, I need some on-the-go snacks to keep on hand. Today we're heading out on a "date day" (really just going out to the movies) so I thought it was the perfect time to share one of our favourite go-to snacks!

Store bought bars and snacks are great - but they get expensive.... and often times, they get boring too.
Raw bites are one snack we always have in our freezer for quick and easy snacks - and every Sunday before church, you can guarantee I'll be gobbling down a raw bite as they're on of the quickest things to eat (as well as incredibly delicious!)

These Chocolate Banana Raw Bites are one of my absolute favourites and they can be eaten straight from the freezer. They're a little bit softer than our other recipes but that just means you need to eat them quick ;) (
They will actually be fine at room temperature for a while too, I just like them firmer so they're not sticky or messy).

Best of all? They're SO simple to make. So let's get onto that recipe!

Almond Chocolate Banana Raw Bite Recipe - Gluten Free, Sugar Free, Vegan Snack

Chocolate Banana Raw Bites makes 14 large bites
gluten free, sugar free, no bake, raw, vegan

1 2/3 cup (280g) whole raw almonds
1 1/3 cup (225g)  dried dates, at room temperature or softened in the microwave
1 medium (100g) banana
1/3 cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

In your food processor, pulse your almonds until finely chopped.
Add in your dates, pulsing until they are somewhat incorporated with your almonds.
Add in all of your other ingredients, processing until your mixture comes together.
If needed, add in a tsp of water or more until your mix comes together.
Roll into balls - or if your mix is too soft, place in the fridge to firm up before rolling.
Your raw bites will keep in the fridge for a few days or keep in the freezer for months.

But tell me, what are your go-to snacks?
We keep a bunch of snacks in our freezer for quick healthy snacks - raw bites, muffins, healthy cake slices and the like.
