Six Sentence Sunday: 14th December, 2014

If you're a SIL regular you may have been wondering what I was doing posting a recipe (not just any recipe, but the easiest and most delicious Gluten Free and Vegan Fruit Cake Recipe with No Added Sugar!) on a Sunday instead of a 6 Sentence Sunday post - but that was because I've been trying to post is since yesterday but our internet was being my nemesis as always.

Family Christmas Movie Night - Christmas Advent Calendar Activity Ideas

We've had a busy busy weekend - with birthday parties, lunches, church and get togethers but last night we took some time out to enjoy a Christmas Movie Night with the family (as it was one of our advent calendar activities!)

Sleepy Trixie Belle on the couch

But now that our weekend is drawing to a close and Jesse and I have returned from lunch with friends with full tummies (I brought along our Roasted Pumpkin and Feta Couscous Salad, Watermelon and Feta Couscous Salad and Healthy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies) we are having some lazy time with our very sleepy puppies <3

Homegrown Cucumbers

Apparently we grow mutant cucumbers as well - but really, this one just got stuck in the chicken wire and Jesse had to cut it free - thus why it looks like the crimson chin ;P

Homegrown Cucumbers

Cucumbers are actually the only thing we're successfully growing at the moment as we've found it's not actually possums eating our veggies - but a sneaky little mouse! :(

Snacky Picnic Dinner by the Christmas Tree - Christmas Advent Calendar Activities

As part of our Advent Calendar Activity for the day we had a snacky picnic dinner by the Christmas tree (which was exactly what I felt like eating on this warmish summer night after a big lunch!)

But tell me, how has your weekend been?
Anything exciting or interesting to share?

  2. Well this is super awesome (and makes fruit cake sound and look super delicious!)
I wish my family had holiday food traditions, but with a family of non-foodies, that has always been missing ;)

  3. How do you, miss foodie, live with a family of non-foodies?! :P I'm lucky - whilst my family aren't so much into cooking, they're into eating and food traditions haha

  4. Are you spending time with your Mom over Christmas? Perhaps you need to buy some cute pjs and movie snacks for both of you as a Christmas gift so she can't say no! ;) xx
