Hellllloooooooo Friday and hello, you! I am SO glad the weekend is almost here as I am totally wiped out. I don't know why but I am just feeling tired so I am SO ready for a lazy Saturday morning with no schedule!
But first, let me share what's been happening in our world recently! >>
Recently Enjoying: Lots of sunset walks with my Pokemon Master Husband.... and lots of walks in general. Think I'm kidding? Let me prove it...
My step count since Jesse got Pokemon Go has been around 15-20,000 steps per day because we've been heading out for at least an hour each day - except when it's raining. Jesse has been disappointed the last couple of days because it has been raining and I had to babysit in the evenings.
Recent Laughs: It's kind of been all things Pokemon for Jesse lately and I couldn't help but laugh when he showed me his latest "invention".... a wrist strap for his phone so he doesn't have to keep grabbing his phone out of his pocket when playing Pokemon - and he doesn't have to hold it all the time either.
Oy vey, friends! Oy vey!
Recent Happy Mail: I loveee getting fun mail (not bills... no one likes bills) and this week my Happy Mail was even better because it was DISNEY THEMED! My TeeBlox subscription for this month arrived with this super cute (and seriously soft) Mickey Tee!
TeeBlox have a bunch of different theme boxes (I have the Disney box) and regardless of which box you choose, each month you'll get a brand new t-shirt and two other awesome bits and bobs which are usually comics, a poster, stickers or whatever else they throw in.
Best of all? The box is only $15.99 a month AND I asked the team at TeeBlox if they could give you guys a special deal and they decided to give you 10% off! If you use the TeeBlox Coupon Code 1STBLOX, you'll receive 10% off your first order!
Oh and they ship WORLD WIDE! So that's an extra win ;)
Recent Food Obsessions: After taking this salad to a friend's house on Saturday, I can't stop eating this combination! Mixed lettuce leaves with feta, roasted pumpkin, roasted cashews and this organic cane sugar free balsamic reduction (not sponsored or anything - I just love it!) which is made with coconut sugar!
When I'm eating it by myself I also add beets, cucumber and whatever other veggies I have in the fridge.
Recent Randomness: Apparently I'm not the only tired one this week as this is how I found Jesse yesterday morning. Fast asleep, glasses off and lying on the floor of his office.
Errrr... as you do.
I left him there as I had to leave for Mainly Music, however, I then got frantic text messages from my Dad who couldn't wake him up to go to work :P When Jesse's asleep, NOTHING will wake him up.
Recent Posts: This week, as well as my Random Ramblings and Cartoons, I shared A Free Printable DIY Sight Words Card Game which I've been playing with my little friend who I volunteer with (read more about that in the post) as well as my go-to Best Vegan Baked Oatmeal Recipe which is the perfect vessel for ALLLL THE TOPPINGS!
Recent Eats: Lots and lots and lots and lots of bowls of gluten free oatmeal and hot cereal (at the moment it's either Creamy Buckwheat Hot Cereal or Mighty Tasty Hot Cereal but I've just ordered some Organic Brown Rice Farina as well for something different) with ALLLLLLLLLLLLL THE TOPPINGS. Do you see a trend appearing here? I'm all about the toppings.
The bowl up there was topped with banana, sliced medjool dates and creamy almond butter.
I've been cooking them with coconut milk so it's extra creamy and whilst usually my go-to fruit is banana I also had this awesome bowl of Blueberry Banana Oatmeal with Almond Butter.... and.. er apparently I like my spoon on the right hand side as I've just realised all of my oatmeal bowl photos are that way... which is kind of weird as I'm actually left handed.
Oh and if you're not already following us on Instagram (@southerninlaw)- be sure to! That's where we share allllllllll the food that doesn't make it to the blog... namely what we eat each day as well as sneak peeks of recipes to come!
But tell me, how has your week been?
Are you right handed or left handed?
And what's one meal/food you've been loving this week?
I can't get enough of oatmeal or quinoa... I'm all about the grains this week, I suppose... and nut butter.... but I'm always all about nut butter.
