Travelling with coeliac disease is hard - but it doesn't have to be! When we were planning our Disneyland trip last year, I struggled to find one place outlining all of the gluten free options, so I decided to create one.

This Gluten Free Guide to Disneyland includes where to stay, what to eat and even how to save money. You'll find full menus, lists of delicious snacks, coupon codes and so much more for Disneyland, Star Wars Galaxy's Edge and Disney's California Adventure.

So let me tell you how Disneyland is the Happiest Place on Earth for Gluten Free Eaters! >>

I'm someone who has stayed both on Disney property (Disneyland Resort and The Grand Californian) but Homewood Suites has to be my favourite place - and the reason is all the extra room.

Instead of just having a bedroom and bathroom, you have a full suite with kitchen at Homewood Suites. This means you can cook your own meals and have some extra room to spread out and feel at home. It's the perfect family friendly off property accomodation option for a Disneyland trip.

Homewood Suites also has free buffet breakfast every morning and free evening meals every weeknight (and free beer and wine!). The gluten free options are limited, however, for gluten eaters, Jesse gave both a thumbs up!

The property also has an arcade/games room, mini golf course, gym, basketball court swimming pool with fire pits and free movie nights so there is always plenty to do when you're not in the parks.

How to Get to Disneyland from Hilton Homewood Suites Anaheim Convention Centre:
Disneyland and California Adventure are just a short walk away - but we saved our legs by taking the Toy Story Parking Lot shuttle to the park entrance. To get to the parking lot, simply walk outside the hotel, turn right and walk to the crossing, cross the road, take another right turn and walk into the parking lot to where you see the bus shelters. Buses come every 5 or so minutes and are free for everyone to use.

Gluten Free DIsneyland Guide - Vons Grocery Delivery Service to Hotel Anaheim California

How to Save Money: Order groceries to your hotel! The benefit of having a full kitchen and full sized fridge was that we could cook for ourselves and order in groceries. The team at Homewood Suites Anaheim Resort-Convention Centre accepted our grocery delivery whilst we were at Disneyland and even unpacked all of our groceries to ensure all of the cold items were in the fridge.

We'd eat breakfast at the hotel before leaving and often came back for a quick dinner before going back to the parks in the morning.

My top items to order to save money?
  • Bottled water (if you would otherwise buy it)
  • Breakfast items, like;
    • Fresh fruit
    • Yogurt
    • Cereal
    • Nut butters
  • Lunch items, like;
    • Gluten free bread
    • Sandwich toppings (lunch meat, nut butter, salad, hummus etc)
  • Snacks to take into the park, like;
    • Hummus and gluten free pretzels
    • Protein/snack bars
    • Nuts
    • String Cheese
Each morning we'd leave for the park having eaten breakfast with a packed lunch and a few snacks in our bags and we'd return later for dinner/buy it in the park. This way we weren't spending hundreds on food each day and could eat whatever we wanted.

Vons Delivery Coupon Code Discounts - Disneyland Grocery Delivery

To save even more money, join Just For U. It's a digital coupon membership that's free to join and you can use those coupons to save money on your order. If you're from the US and have Safeway, Albertsons or Vons, this is the same Just For U program (we registered in Hawaii and used the same membership log in).

You may also find that you can get free delivery on your first delivery, so check the current offers before you place your order. When we ordered through Pavilions we got $20 off our order and free delivery by using the advertised code.

A Note About Amazon Fresh: Amazon Fresh is also another option, however, when we ordered from Amazon Fresh (September 2018) our order was unexpectedly cancelled in the last 2 minutes of the grocery window and we were left without groceries. We had no issues with Pavilions at all, hence why we recommend ordering your groceries through there.

How to Eat Gluten Free at Disneyland: If you're like me and feel like you're always cooking for yourself to avoid getting glutened, you'll find that Disneyland really is the Happiest Place on Earth because there are SO many gluten free options.

Disneyland do allergy friendly options really well. All of their kitchen staff are educated on cross contaminations and they always do their best to accommodate your needs.

What Snacks Are Gluten Free at Disneyland? Most of the gluten free eating I did at Disneyland was snacking - and there are so many options!

Here's a quick guide to some of our favourite gluten free snacks and where you'll find them

Please keep in mind that ingredients do change - so be sure to check yourself before eating! Cast Members are always happy to answer questions!
  • Disneyland
    • Around the Park - Ice Cream Carts
At Ice Cream Carts you'll find Mickey Ice Cream Bars (chocolate coated vanilla Mickey shaped ice creams), Frozen Chocolate Covered Bananas which are both gluten free (and packaged with ingredients labelled).

If you're unsure, simply ask the cast member to see the ingredients list!
    • Around the Park - Popcorn Carts
Yep, Disneyland popcorn and kettle corn is gluten free! So grab one of those cute popcorn buckets and enjoy!
    • Around the Park - Fruit Stands
There are lots of snack stands around the park with different gluten free options. We found the fruit carts had fresh whole fruit and cut fruit packages as well as packaged gluten free snacks. There's also pickles and hummus and veggie stick packs that are gluten free.
    • Around the Park - Turkey Legs
That famous Disneyland snack is gluten free too! They'll also show you the ingredients list if you're not sure!
    • Around the Park - Cotton Candy
Love cotton candy? Enjoy, it's gluten free!
    • New Orlean's Square
      Mint Juleps are gluten free!
    • Adventureland
Dole Whip and Dole Whip Floats are gluten free and absolutely delicious. There's also fresh pineapple spears to enjoy as well!
    • Star Wars Galaxy's Edge
The Outpost Mix popcorn is gluten free and I have been told that the Blue and Green Mil  are dairy free and vegan (made on almond and coconut milks) and possibly gluten free - but make sure you check before buying and drinking! It does seem that they have oats in them, but those oats aren't defined as gluten free so I'd probably err on the side of caution and avoid them if you have coeliac disease.
  • California Adventure
    • Around the Park - Ice Cream Carts
At Ice Cream Carts you'll find Mickey Ice Cream Bars (chocolate coated vanilla Mickey shaped ice creams), Frozen Chocolate Covered Bananas which are both gluten free (and packaged with ingredients labelled).

    • Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats
The Pixar Pier Parfait (pictured above!) is gluten free, as is the It's Lemon, It's Chocolate and It's Vanilla soft serve in a cup. The It's Lemon is my personal fave!
    • Jack Jack's Cookie Num Nums
Whilst Jack Jack's chocolate chip cookie isn't gluten free, there is a gluten free cookie! It's a giant thumbprint cookie filled with raspberry jam and it's gluten free and individually packaged.
    • Serv-ice
I have heard that all drinks are gluten free - but check with a cast member to make sure!

Disneyland Allergy Menus: I've put together a list with allergy menus that I've found. Below is a mix of photos I took myself, photos from friends and other photos with sources listed. These menus may not be up to date as they change all the time so please use them as a guide and speak to your server for an updated menu.

When dining at Disneyland or Disney's California Adventure, make sure you let the server/person taking your order know that you have allergies and need an allergy menu. They will often have the chef speak to you about the options and they will oversee your order.

Allergy Menus can also be found online at the Disneyland Website. Here are the current allergy menus:
If I've missed or miscredited something, please let me know and I'll fix it ASAP! :)

Gluten Free Mobile Ordering: When placing a mobile order at Disneyland or California Adventure, you can also find the allergy offerings by selecting "Allergy Friendly" shown above on certain restaurants. This gives you all of the allergy options in one place - and you can use this to see what's on offer even if you're not ordering.

Once you've clicked Allergy Friendly you'll find a list of each of the options, as shown above! Simply download the Disneyland app and create an account to see the feature.

Mobile ordering is a must on a busy day as you can simply pick up your order when it's ready and don't have to wait in line.

    And there you have it!
Have I missed something? Let me know so I can add it in!
