The Best One Handed Gluten Free Snacks

The Best Gluten Free Snacks Australia

We've rounded up the best store bought, pre-packaged gluten free snacks in Australia that you can eat one handed and on the go! Perfect for anyone with a busy schedule - as well as a few extras especially recommended for breastfeeding mamas and new Mums.

I don't know about you, but I am definitely a snacker - especially while pregnant. Whilst huge meals aren't my thing, snacks definitely are and I love having healthy and convenient options in our pantry for when hunger strikes.

With a baby due in just a few weeks, I've been stocking up on my favourite one handed snacks so I always have something to eat - whether I'm snuggling a sleeping baby, up in the middle of the night feeding him or just wanting a snack.

As a coeliac, it's often hard to find good gluten free snack options - but I've rounded up my favourite One Handed Gluten Free Snacks that are perfect for stashing in your purse, glove box, nappy bag, pram or pantry.

So let me share them with you! >>

The Best Gluten Free Snacks Australia

Tom & Luke are the kings of delicious snack balls - and are actually one of our travel necessities. Whenever we travel, you'll find at least a few bags of Tom & Luke snack balls in our suitcases and you'll probably see us eating them on the plane too.

They have a huge range of flavours, available at Coles and Woolworths stores across Australia, but our top picks are:
  • Peanut Butter & Cacao Snackaballs - Our OG fave, these are a MUST for any peanut butter lover. The ingredients list is free from any nasties and super simple and as well as being gluten free, they're also egg free, dairy free and vegan. Each serve has 6g of fibre and 9g of protein.
  • Salted Caramel Snackaballs - Jesse's fave and the most delicious snack when you want something sweet but also nutritious. They're gluten free, dairy free, vegan, refined sugar free, non-GMO and also have pea protein powder to add a protein kick.
  • Dark Mint Snackaballs - I'm a mint chocolate lover and these snack balls are definitely on the favourite list. They're the perfect healthy dessert and are also gluten free, dairy free, egg free, vegan, refined sugar free and non-GMO.
  • Dark Cacao Nib Snackaballs - Sooooo, these have become my coffee companion when I want a chocolate kick but still want to make sure I'm eating well. The cacao nibs add the perfect amount of crunch and a delicious dark chocolate flavour. Do yourself a favour and try them - and totally pair them with a latte because I'm convinced it makes them 10000x better!
  • Dose & Co Caramel Collagen Balls - These are relative newbies to the Tom & Luke range and they're just as delicious as the original caramel snackaballs, but with the added benefit of collagen. Some mama friends have recommended upping my collagen intake post baby to help with post partum hair loss as well as helping with healing - and my Dr has given me the green light so what better snack to enjoy?
  • Dose & Co Chocolate Fudge Collagen Balls - These are super rich and chocolatey and contain 2g of collagen per ball + over 7g of protein per serve. Better still? The ingredients list like every other Tom & Luke product is super simple and filled with only clean, natural ingredients.
  • Berry Buckwheat Wholefood Snackaballs - Another newbie in the Tom & Luke range and a new one for Jesse and I to fight for 😅 Jesse is a big berry fan so when I opened these and he smelt them, the battle was on to see who could get to them first. I LOVE the crunch the buckwheat adds and they are the perfect sweet yet healthy treat.
  • Maple Almond Wholefood Snackaballs - Another newbie, these have 50% less sugar yet taste seriously decadent. They even have the sneaky addition of pumpkin powder and faba bean pea protein, but you'd never guess!
  • Apple and Chia Wholefood Snackaballs - Another newbie, again with 50% less sugar, these snackaballs remind me of Autumn with the taste of apple and cinnamon. So good and perfect for those who aren't big chocolate eaters!
The Best Store Bought Gluten Free Snacks Australia

Blue Dinosaur's range of hand baked bars are one of my handbag staples because they come in so many different flavours and have an awesome clean ingredients list. They're gluten free, soy free, plant based, dairy free, preservative free, non-GMO amd completely free from any artificial ingredients.

They're available at Coles and Woolworths stores in the health food aisle and are also available online.

Struggling to choose a flavour? Here's our top picks:
  • Cheesecake Base Bar - Who knew something so simple (dates + cashew butter) could seriously taste like a cheesecake base. This is our #1 fave for sure.
  • Banana Bread Bar - Ummm, do we even need to explain? Banana bread. In a bar. Delicious.
  • Cinnamon Scroll Bar - Sweet and cinnamony, this one is even better when eaten alongside a latte. (are you sensing a theme here with me?)
  • Lamington Bar - An Aussie classic made healthy. If you like chocolate and coconut together, you'll love this one.
  • Lemon and Macadamia Bar - Citrus heaven! The macadamias in this make it so creamy and decadent.
The Best Gluten Free Snacks and Energy Bars - I Am Grounded

I am Grounded tick two boxes in one go - coffee and snacks. They are the perfect afternoon pick me up and they're good for the planet too! Not only are their bars gluten free, vegan and free from added sugars, they upcycle the coffee fruit that usually ends up in landfill to create a delicious snack - and it's considered a superfruit!

They come in three delicious flavours:
  • Lemon Coconut and Coffee Fruit
  • Espresso Tahini and Coffee Fruit
  • Cocoa Almond Butter and Coffee Fruit (my fave!)
You can buy them online in single or multi flavour packs.

Low Carb Gluten Free Snacks Australia

Locako's snacks are not only gluten free, but low sugar and keto friendly too. They have a HUGE range of products, but some of our faves are:
  • Peanut Butter Choc Crunch Oven Baked Keto Cookie - Think of a healthy peanut butter cup. This cookie is huge and SERIOUSLY delicious.
  • Protein Brownie Rum Ball - This is a seasonal snack but you NEED to try it. So so good!
  • Salted Almond Butter Grass Fed Collagen Brownie Bite - Seriously tasty and with the benefits of collagen. This one is also dairy free and has an epic 7.8g of protein.
  • Vanilla and Hazelnut Grass Fed Collagen Brownie Bite - This one is my fave because the hazelnut flavour is soooooo good! It has 9g of protein, is full of healthy fats and is gluten free and low carb.
  • Berry White Chocolate Beauty Collagen Brownie Bite - SOOOOOO good! If you love fruity flavours, you'll love this one!
  • Almond Butter Cookie Dough Protein Brownie Ball - Ummm, yum.. just try this one. SO so good!
You can find Locako products online on their website.

The Best Gluten Free Lactation Cookies Australia

Boobie Bikkies are one for the mamas! At the moment they only have one flavour that's gluten free, Coconut, Date and Seed, but I love that they're individually wrapped so they stay fresh and you can pop them in the nappy bag/your handbag.

They're available online or at Chemist Warehouse.
