Recent Things: We're BAAAACK!

Hey! Happy Friday!

This week has been a bit of a topsy turvy week for us. We flew out of California late Monday night, landed in Australia on Wednesday morning, went back to work and now somehow the weekend is almost here?

It's also the busiest time of year for work and social things so I feel like it's all systems go - but I'm glad we're back home with our puppies and actually healthy food 😛

But enough of that,
Let me catch you up on our week! >>>

Rope Dropping at Disneyland

Recently Enjoying: Every last second at Disneyland! Our last two days were Saturday and Sunday which were seriously busy - and seriously HOT, but we decided to rope drop the final day and fit so much into the day.

In the first hour, we'd ridden Big Thunder Mountain, Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean - all without a fast pass and pretty much walking straight on.

In the first three hours, we'd ridden almost every single ride in Disneyland (only using two fast passes) and then headed over to Disney's California Adventure to do some of our favourite rides over there.

By lunchtime, it was SO hot that we decided to head back to our hotel for a break (after chilling out in the airconditioning at the Animation Academy for a little while) and then headed back to the parks around 5:30pm to ride some more rides, see Fantasmic and then rode all of our favourite rides until the park closed at 12am.

Even with a four hour break, we rode 26 rides, saw Fantasmic and the fireworks, hung out at the Golden Horseshoe, did a drawing class at the Animation Academy and checked out the parades... all while some of the rides had 90+ minute wait times.

Christmas on Main Street Disneyland

Oh and we also spent plenty of time taking photos and admiring all the Christmas decorations... Disneyland at Christmas is so magical 😻

Christmas Tree at Disneyland

We didn't actually get too many photos of ourselves on this trip - only because we didn't bother with Maxpass and all of the photos we did have taken of us (by cast members or photopass photographers) ended up blurry or awful - but we have so many memories that it doesn't count!

It was also so busy this trip that all of the photo spots (by the Christmas tree/with the Disneyland railroad in the background etc) had such long wait times - and we wanted to ride alllll the rides instead!

Disneyland Teacups at Night

Recently Feeling: Sick and sniffly! I don't know if it's a kind of allergy thing (because of all the smoke in Sydney), or I'm coming down with a cold - but yesterday I started sneezing and sniffling and have not stopped.

Jesse did have a cold while we were away (he got sick pretty much the day we left and was sick for the first week) and I managed to avoid it - but it may have caught up with me. Maybe my body was just trying to maximise Disney time 😛

We're thankfully not feeling jet lagged at all because somehow both of us managed to sleep EIGHT hours on our flight home. I guess my Best Products for Sleeping on a Plane helped 😛

Jesse dabbing on Splash Mountain

Recent Embarrassed By: My dabbing husband.... 🙄

I was also hating his decision making 0.000001 seconds after this photo was taken because it was SO cold that day and we got absolutely SOAKED. A tidal wave of water swept over us and we were so soaked we had to go back to the hotel and run all of our clothes and shoes through the dryer because everything was DRIPPING.

Did we go on Splash Mountain on the super hot days? Nope. Because the wait time was 40+ minutes 😛

Recent Happiness: Coming home to our puppers! To say that they were excited when we walked through the door would be THE BIGGEST understatement of the century. They completely lost it and were jumping and wagging their tails and would not let us be even more than a metre away from them.

We also brought them home some new toys so they were very glad to have us home. Chanel now has a new Mickey Mouse baby and Trixie is very happy with her new ball and bone.

Peppermint Bark Rocky Road Recipe

Recently Posting: THE BEST Rocky Road Recipe. Trust me when I say you NEED to make this Peppermint Crunch Rocky Road Recipe this holiday season. I just bought the ingredients to make a batch tomorrow because I NEEEEED it in my belly.b

But tell me,
How has your week been?
And I want to know - when you come home from a trip, do you unpack your bags right away? Or do you leave them for a while?
We are team unpack ASAP. Our bags were literally unpacked and everything was in the washing machine or put away within two hours of getting home.
