Recent Things: Minions, Unicorns & Obsessive Eats

Hello my lovely ones! How has your week been?

For once, this week has gone increeeeeeeeedibly slow for me because I'm out of my usual routine and I'm dealing with a nasty IT band injury that has had me pretty much sitting on my butt doing nothing (except working, of course) all week long.

But let's get on with the post, shall we?! >>

Recent Pain (and awesome purchases): As I was saying, I'm currently dealing with a pretty nasty IT band injury that came out of nowhere! I worked out as per usual on Monday with no pain, only to finish my workout and find myself with a really sore thigh half an hour or so later. I had a shower, thinking the heat might help but when I got out of the shower I could hardly walk - so I quickly called the physio to try and book in an appointment (with no luck) so I opted for a remedial sports massage instead and holyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ouch, my friends.

I have quite a high pain tolerance and the masseuse told me I took the pain like a boss (he said better than the big footballers he deals with - but considering most of them are wimps that wasn't a big compliment :P)  but oh boy was he not kidding when he said he didn't beat around the bush when it came to injury massage. I dealt with so much pain and pressure throughout the whole hour massage that I came home and had this weird jittery feeling where I felt like I could have cried but I wasn't sad and didn't feel like crying? It was very odd - kind of like how you feel after you get seriously scared or narrowly avoid falling over and hurting yourself.

But my latest eBay purchase totally made up for it. Unicorn vs T-Rex leggings were a joke impulse buy that turned out to be ridiculously awesome :P (our friends and family often joke that I live in a world of fluffy puppies and unicorns because I'm always smiling and Katrina calls me T-Rex because of my shonky arm :P)

Recent Must Haves: A massive mug of tea or coffee, please. To counteract the freeeeeeeeeeeeeezingness of the weather and icing my IT band, I've been drinking ALL THE HOT DRINKS this week - especially because my circulation has gone backwards (with not being able to exercise and move around) and I'm absolutely freezing. Jesse even made me put a heat pack on my feet in bed because they were so cold he could feel them even when his feet weren't next to mine haha.

Recent Fun: On Saturday we took our two favourite little guys (who have recently become big brothers!) out to see Minions at the movies. To increase the minion factor we also found some Minions Lunchboxes at Kmart which made the perfect popcorn holders for the movie ;)

We're babysitting them (and bub!) on Saturday and can't wait - they've even already decided that we'll have a movie night at home.

Recent Breakfast Loves: Our Healthy Honey Vanilla Homemade Granola Recipe and ALL THE Baked Oatmeal! We've been making batch after batch of our homemade granola as it makes a delicious quick breakfast option with fresh fruit and greek yogurt - and of course, I'm always loving my baked oatmeal and breakfast bakes for quick breakfasts. I've been especially loving what we've been calling "proats" - basically protein baked oatmeal - and I'll have to share the recipe with you ASAP!

Recent Rekindled Love: Cheesy Garlic Bread Toasted Sandwiches GET IN MY BELLY <3 The perfect winter lunch!

But tell me, how has your week been?
What do you have planned for the weekend?
