Recent Things: Recovering, Rejoicing and Ridiculousness

Well hey there! The weekend is almost upon us, friends! Jesse and I have a free friday night tonight as it's school holidays, so we really feel like it's the weekend!

Lots has been happening this week, so let me catch you up on it!
Here's what we've been up to this week! >>

Recent Joy: Packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child! We're wishing we could have packed three hundred instead of three, but we had so much fun shopping for these kids and are so glad we can put a smile on their faces this Christmas! If you haven't heard about Operation Christmas Child, be sure to head to the website to find out more.

It's a program that runs all over the world - so whether you're in Australia or the US or Canada or the UK, you can pack a shoebox too! You too could be making a difference to someone's Christmas! It's a little way to help that makes a huge huge difference!

Recent Laughs: Trixie is always making us laugh. For some reason, this week she has been extra hungry and pushing her bowl around like a lunatic.

When Trixie is hungry, she lays like you see above with her head in her food bowl, madly licking it and pushing it around with her head, banging it into things to get our attention.

When her water bowl is empty, you'll find her either trying to turn it upside down or casually sitting in it, waiting for us to fill it again :P

Recent Deliciousness: Smoothies. I am still all about smoothies as snacks at the moment. They're an easy way to get energy and protein in without too much fuss - and they're delicious too! This week my Healthy Coffee Protein Smoothie Recipe has been my all time favourite.

Recent Disappointment: I was majorly bummed when I had to miss out on our last week of Ignite last week - and Jesse had to miss it as well as he was away for work. There is nothing I hate more than disappointing others and I feel like I did that by not being well enough to be there.

I know I can't control being sick, however, I hate that I've had to miss out on so much lately because of it :(

At least I had Trixie around to cuddle!

Recent Upside: But it's not all bad! Slowly slowly I am starting to feel better. I am absolutely exhausted, however, I've been feeling well enough to leave the house and actually sit at my computer to work instead of working from my laptop. On Saturday I kinda overdid it a little though as we went shopping for our Operation Christmas Child boxes and were out for a couple of hours - followed by a morning at church on Sunday - and I was totally wiped by the afternoon on both days.

One step at a time!

Recent Fun: Barbecuing! We got a new barbeque that I am so excited to tell you about..... though I can't just yet.... but it is so awesome because it means this coeliac girl can enjoy a bbq safely once again! I haven't been able to eat anything cooked on the grill since diagnosis as I was getting sick from cross contamination, however, now we have a grill that is SO easy to clean and totally allergy safe! WIN!

Recent Treats: My sister is currently in hospital, recovering from a massive infection, and she asked me to make her favourite snickers cookies as hospital food sucks and she needed some cheering up. I lightened up my original recipe, made it gluten free and created the most deeeeeeeeeeelicious cookies that I'll have to share with you soon! Yum, yum, yum!

Recent Obsession: Our Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter No Bake Cookies Recipe. There's a batch of these babies in our freezer constantly because they're so so good! If you haven't made them yet, you need to ASAP!

But tell me, how has your week been?
Anything exciting, delicious or worth celebrating?
And what are your plans for the weekend?
