Recent Things: Birthdays and Gluten Free Heaven

Helloooo! Happy Friday!

The weekend is almost here and this week has totally flown by once again. Our week was a bit of a short one as we had Monday off for my birthday - but it's been a busy one full of lots of good things.

So let me catch you up on our week! >>

Pork Ribs on the Barbecue

Recently Enjoying: Board game nights with friends! (Also, our bbq isn't that dirty, Jesse used the flash + HDR mode on his phone ๐Ÿ˜›)

We kicked off the weekend with friends over for dinner and board games and Jesse made his specialty; pork ribs! I was actually super sick with the flu on Friday, but we had a fun night and Jesse was crowned barbecue king once again.

Bushwalks with my Best Friend

Recently Walking: EVERYWHERE. The rest of the weekend was kind of ruined because it was awfully cold and windy (and it even snowed in other parts of the state) and I had the flu - but we still got a lot done. We went on multiple bushwalks, went shopping to pick up some supplies for a wedding sign I'm making for one of my Mum's work colleagues and spent time with family.

Cricut Birthday Gifts

Recently Receiving: ALLL the Cricut stuff, for my birthday! I don't really like receiving gifts, but my family always ignore my requests and buy me things anyway - so this year I got a bunch of Cricut things.

Jesse also bought me a bunch of my favourite chocolate because he knows it's the one thing I can't say no to ๐Ÿ˜œ

Birthday Trips to the Zoo

Recently Realising: That people are dumb, and entirely vain. A troll sent me a message on Instagram about this photo telling me I looked "ugly" and why were my "eyes so puffy" in this photo.

1) I don't really care if I do look ugly at all because I only have one face, but
2) I had the freaking flu and a sinus infection.

People care waaaaaayy too much about image. Your face and how you look does not make you a better person. I couldn't care less if I was the most attractive person in the world or not, because I'd much rather be a good person.

Sooo, next time you judge someone on their appearance, maybe stop to judge your own heart.

As John Crist would say #CheckYourHeart.

Speaking of that photo, it was taken at the zoo on my birthday and we had the best day!

Taronga Zoo has a promo running where you can get $1 zoo entry on your birthday so we took advantage of that and spent the day at the zoo!

Layered Stickers with the Cricut

Recently Making: Layered stickers - with the Cricut! We haven't made too much this week, but this was an experiment on the weekend that turned out so well!

Gluten Free Croissants Sydney

Recently Eating: Gluten free croissants!!! Woolworths have gluten free croissants now and they're SO good! At first I wasn't so sure, but when toasted Jesse even said they taste like an actual croissant (I just haven't eaten one for at least 8 years!)

Lawless by Kimberley Motley Book Review.jpg

Recently Reading: Lawless by Kimberley Motley (seriously fascinating), Dear Dad by Samuel Johnson (perfect Father's Day gift + raises money for cancer research!) and I'm almost finished The Forgotten Sister which I'm not the greatest fan of, to be honest!

Trixie Belle

Recently Snuggling: The puppies! Because it was so cold on the weekend, both pups have been extra snuggly and we're totally not complaining!

Easy Gluten Free Chocolate Swirl Baked Cheesecake with Brownie Base Recipe

Recently Posting: This deeeeeelicious Gluten Free Chocolate Swirl Cheesecake Recipe. It was my early birthday cake and it's seriously ridiculously delicious. You NEEEEED to try it!

But tell me,
How has your week been?
What's the best birthday present you've ever received?
And what are your weekend plans?
