I love a good weekend project - and this DIY Custom Doormat may be one of my easiest (and most impressive) ones yet.

Made in under an hour and for less than $20 (you can actually make three for $25!), it's a project that almost anyone could do and would make an awesome gift idea.

Best of all? It's super simple - but everyone will be in awe of your creative talent because it looks so much more complicated than it is!

So let me show you how to make it! >>

UNBOXING: What's Inside The New Cricut Maker?

UNBOXING The Cricut Maker | What's inside the Cricut Maker, What Can You Make with the Cricut Maker

See what's inside the new Cricut Maker and learn what projects you can make with it with this easy video tutorial. A must read and see for beginners with tool and accessory recommendations, project ideas and more.

This is not a sponsored post, however, Cricut did send me a Cricut maker.

I love crafty things and always have. As a kid, I spent hours making canvas artworks and friendship bracelets. In high school, I used my free time to make hand-sewn plushies and fell in love with scrapbooking. Now, as an adult, I love a good craft projects and spend many weekends dragging Jesse through craft stores and hardware stores looking for materials for my next project.

So, when I heard that Cricut had a new machine that had dozens of tools to allow you to work on a huge range of materials -  I needed to know more... and apparently you guys did too!

When I first posted that my Cricut Maker had arrived on Instagram, I got so many replies from those of you who were either desperate for your own, wanted to know what it could be used for - or wanted to know how it differed from other Cricut machines.

And I thought.... what better way to tell you what comes inside the new Cricut maker than to show you.... and thus my first ever actual Youtube video was born...

So let me show you (embarassingly/cringingly?) what's inside the new Cricut Maker >>

Travel: Our Adrenaline Filled Day in Rotorua New Zealand

Southern In New Zealand Travel Reviews - The Adrenaline Day Zorbing, Go Karting, Monster Truck Riding and More
See more of our New Zealand Adventures & other travels here!

I feel like when you get married, you find yourself doing things you never would have imagined doing for anyone else.

You do things; like smell clothes to see if they're clean (I always used to tell Jesse that was a disgusting boy thing to do... and now I'm guilty of doing it myself), actually wanting to spend time looking after someone who's sick instead of running away from the germs like your life depends on it and you have way more inside jokes than you ever thought possible.

You also do things like risk your life for the sake of your husband's enjoyment... or maybe that's just me...

The next edition of our New Zealand Adventures which I'm sharing with you today is about exactly that. We called this day "The Adrenaline Day" and it was EXACTLY that. A day that was totally, completely and utterly outside this girl's comfort zone, however, I actually found myself loving every second.

Find out how this day for Jesse turned out to be one of our favourite days of the trip! >>

Travel: Getting to know Rotorua's History

Getting to Know Rotorua's History - Southern In Law in New Zealand
See more of our New Zealand Adventures & other travels here!

Well hey! To break things up, I thought I'd share a little bit more of our New Zealand Adventures with you (as we still have so much to share!). Just like in our last post, this one has BLUEEEE SKIES... but even better than that?

This post has Jesse dancing. Yep. My "shy" husband doing the haka - but you'll have to read on a little bit for that video. As well as that there's bubbling brooks, boat trips, exploding geysers and plenty more to see!

But enough yapping, let's jump right into it!

Silent Saturdays: The last laid back weekend for a while!

This is probably our last somewhat laid back Saturday for a while - and here's some of it in silent video form.

The day started off with breakfast whilst calling Jesse's Mom and Brother in Louisiana then it was haircuts at home (nothing better than when your hair stylist comes to you!) and a trip to Bunnings to pick up some things for a couple of projects we're working on.

Jesse has desperately wanted a basketball hoop at home for weeks and on Friday they found one on the side of the road, out for council pick up - so Dad and Jesse decided to grab it and are now working on fixing it up to put up at home.

Then it was an afternoon of painting, cleaning up and working out (20 minute strength workout, 10 minute ab workout and a 30 minute walk for Kristy and Jesse today!)

Next Saturday, we'll be picking up Wesley from the airport - and the Saturday after that we'll be getting married!

What are you up to this weekend?
