2013 - The Year That Was!

Oh what a year we've had! It's hard to believe it's almost over! I wanted to do a quick little recap of the year gone by and I thought what better way than through pictures!

So let's have a look at our 2013!

It started with a bang and big smoochy kiss lips on the harbour bridge. My initials are KISS so I took it as a sign that 2013 was going to be my year - little did I know how much it had in store for me! I also shared some Healthy Habits for living a Healthy Lifestyle and a few Tips on How to Start a Healthy Lifestyle.

One of the first things we did in January was a photoshoot with our gorgeous puppy, Chanel

Early in the year, my favourite kitchen gadget arrived - my tefal fresh express!!

Jesse was also here for our first ever valentines day in the same country and he surprised me with gorgeous pink lillies!

Just before Jesse left to head back to the US, we had Our Engagement Photoshoot in Centennial Park and I fell in love with every single picture!

But Jesse was only gone for 2 weeks - his visa was approved and he officially moved here on March 24th 2013! (After a travelling nightmare and 2 day delay!)

2013 saw me experience new things - like my first time getting my eyebrows threaded and I even shared a video of the eyebrow threading process

We celebrated Easter with our family and friends and deeeelicious healthy chocolate cupcakes

Then it was Jesse's first ever birthday in Australia, which we of course celebrated with a Healthy Cookie Cake

And perhaps one of our most random memories of 2013? Chasing a guinea pig around our front yard to catch her and take her back to her owners. We called her Geraldine and the local vet found her family.

Then it was wedding planning time - we met our gorgeous stylist, Nicolle, for he first time and I fell in love with her studio!

Jesse and I had a wonderful staycation at  The Swissotel Sydney and dined at their restaurant JPB Restaurant which was given the allergy friendly tick of approval!

Then it was Autumn and whilst we hated the cold, we fell in love with those gorgeous fall leaves.

I discovered that Freedom Foods' Free Oats Quick Oats are actually gluten free and explained everything in my post Are Oats Gluten Free?  NOTE: Freedom Foods Oat products are no longer gluten free

Then I nearly divorced Jesse before I married him when he almost broke my computer after cleaning it with a leaf blower..... Needless to say, he hasn't touched it since :P

I got really really sick and we found out that I was dealing with Vitamin B6 poisoning as my body wasn't flushing out the excess as it should. My fingers, arms and legs went numb but luckily we caught it just in time and everything returned back to normal once we got the level down!

SIL Mama and I had a girls night out and went to see Mother, Wife and the Complicated Life the musical!

Jesse and I celebrated our Engagementiversary with a date day in Sydney and went to the Australian Museum

Jesse and I went to see Cavalia and it was the greatest show either of us have ever seen!

Mid year we found a new hobby; restoring furniture

Jesse surprised me with the sweetest "just because" gift - two gorgeous silver jewellery boxes engraved with "just because" and "I love you"

Then it was my 21st birthday - I shared 21 things I am thankful for and we celebrated with our favourite Healthy Chocolate Cake of course!

We also celebrated my birthday/our engagement with an awesome party - complete with DIY Salad Bar which everyone loved! I also shared my tips on how to plan a Healthy Party.

Then our beautiful wedding invitations arrived and it really began to feel real!!

Then I got to meet my long time friend, Jamieanne from the Sweetest Kitchen, in person for the first time at the Lipton High Tea Event!

My most embarrassing moment of 2013? When I wore two odd shoes out of the house - they weren't even close to matching!

Then, my baby sister graduated high school! And we were all there to see her do it!

Then Wesley arrived and we ran around like tourists for a week! We went to Sydney Aquarium, the boys climbed the harbour bridge, we went to the blue mountains and even went on a harbour sightseeing cruise

Then it was wedding time! And the most perfect day of 2013! You'll find all of our wedding posts here.

Then, before we knew it, we were off to Bali

We had the most relaxing time and even rode an elephant!

Then we arrived home and all things were fine and dandy before Jesse was in hospital with a mystery bug and I was a nervous wreck! Luckily after a week off, hardcore antibiotics and lots of rest he was all good!

Some very exciting news came soon after when Jesse's visa was approved in record time!

Then we celebrated thanksgiving and I made my first ever pumpkin pie which was a HUGE success! Get the recipe for my Healthy Pumpkin pie here!

(And I have since made 6 other pies :P)

I found that I can drink coffee!!! And I have fallen in love with my Dolce Gusto coffee machine.

And if the coffee wasn't proof enough that I my stomach is healing and my food intolerances are slowly settling, I can now also eat mango!!

Then it was Christmas and we all got super spoilt (see our 2013 Christmas recap here!)

And lately we've just been lounging around and skyping family in the US

And enjoying time with friends and family and the awesome trampoline at the place we're staying!

What are your favourite memories of 2013?
