Recent Things: Red Sky Warnings, Persistent Pushers and Shopping Up a Storm

Hellooooo, lovely ones!

How has your week been? Mine has been a busy one - and a soggy one. But you didn't come here to find out about the weather... you came here to find out what we've been up to recently, right?! So let's jump into it!

Here's what's been happening in our world >>

Girl getting blown away in the wind by her umbrella

Recent Fails: Yesterday it was pouring with rain and I had to get from my house to our church for Mainly Music (about 2 1/2 km/1.5 miles) without getting completely soaked - so I took the biggest umbrella I could find thinking that was the smartest idea.

Ummmmmmmm.

Little did I know that our ridiculously awesome Blunt Golf Umbrella is around half the size of me so first of all I had a giggle when an old man passing me stopped me and said "little lady, do you think you have a big enough umbrella?!" - but then I realised why the Blunt umbrella's awesomeness was going to be my undoing.

You see, Blunt umbrellas are not only built so they don't poke someone's eye out..... they're also built so they can't turn inside out in the wind - only, when you're trying to walk fast in the wind with an umbrella that won't turn inside out, that umbrella becomes somewhat of a parachute/wind tunnelly thing and you find yourself blowing here, there and everywhere along with it.

Needless to say, next time I think I'll return to just using this one on a really windy day.... or get really strong and muscly so I can keep myself steady.... but I think switching umbrellas is easiest.

Cute Puppy at the Pet Shop

Recent Wants: Sweet baby puppies. Be still my heart 😍

Shopping for a new lounge suite

Recently Looking For: A lounge for my office.... only this giant dream couch wouldn't fit. This one was the size of a bed and so soft and cozy... and unfortunately no, that wasn't the price for the lounge... that was the coffee table 😜

I actually found one I really liked online - but they don't have a showroom in Sydney and I've never bought furniture online and I feel like a couch is a risky purchase when you haven't seen it in person... hmmm!

Recent Saves: Here's what's in my online shopping wishlist lately + quite a few things I've bought that I'll have to share with you once they arrive....

Rainy days are kind of my go to online shopping days... and cold days have me rapidly buying sweaters and warm clothes, haha.

Recent Sights: Red sky warnings - and the beautiful pink and purples that come afterwards!

We're on the end of Daylight Savings here and that means the mornings are dark and gloomy - but luckily that's made for some beautiful sunrises!

I know red skies are supposed to warn of bad weather - but they're pretty while they last!

Persistant Pusher - Rude things people to at the grocery store

Recent Laughs: So a few weeks ago I was at ALDI when two ladies nearly had a punch up in the checkout line because one lady completely pushed in, claiming that because she put one packet of crackers down on the counter and then went off to do the rest of her shopping she had "saved" her space. Mum and I were a bit shocked at how cranky both women were and had a laugh about it later..... only to see "the pusher" yesterday whilst we were at ALDI and I discretely said to Mum "oh look! there's that lady from the ALDI fight".

We then got into line, forgetting all about her and I started loading out groceries onto the end of the conveyer belt, wondering why the lady in front of me had two full trolleys but was only loading the one in front of her - only to have "the pusher" come in just as I was about to be served and unload her full trolley into the metre or so of conveyer belt space that was left.

Clearly this woman is a serial offender... and a total jerk because she then huffed and puffed at me for not giving her enough space whilst the cashier guy just rolled his eyes like he's seen her do it before.

Fitbit Steps

Recent Steps: A WHOLE AWFUL LOT on Saturday through to Monday - and then a WHOLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE lot of sitting on my butt the rest of the week because it has not stopped raining!

Actually, that's a lie - I've walked quite a bit - but I haven't been able to go on an intentional "walk" because of the rain.

I miss my park!

Playing with the new Nintendo Switch Mini Games

Recent Fun: Playing with Jesse's new Nintendo Switch. We had our friends Tom and Mel over on Sunday night and we spent a few hours playing the mini games.

Little did we all know, a certain SOMEONE (ahem, me) would come out on top and be crowned the QUICK DRAW QUEEEEEEEEEEEEN. 0.301 seconds, anyone? Don't mess with me!

Trixie the snuggle monster

Recent Puppyness: Both dogs haven't been loving the gross weather - but they have been loving the snuggles.... and the fact we have to dry them off with a towel when they come inside (because to them that's a cuddle too).

I've had a lot of meetings and whatnot this week so everytime I come home, Trixie becomes super clingy and won't let me out of her sight!

Homemade Stuffed Cannelloni Shells

Recent Dinners: This week we've made quite a few of our favourite dinners - including this Cannelloni (which I really need to photography), my Easy Homemade Ramen Noodle Soup and my Healthy Chicken Pot Pie Recipe - switching the pastry top for mini skillets of cornbread!

Easy Raw Carrot Cake Slice Recipe Gluten Free Garlic and Herb Bread

Recent Recipes: This week I shared two scrumdiddlyumptious (that's a word) recipes. My Easy Raw Carrot Cake Slice Recipe - and my Gluten Free Garlic and Herb Quick Bread Recipe

A Morning With The Mummies

I also shared our weekend adventures in this post

But tell me, how has your week been?
What's something that made you laugh this week? Or something that shocked you?
And what's the craziest antics you've seen at the grocery store lately?
