Easter is fast approaching and whilst my kitchen is demolished, my house is a mess and I'm starting to wonder if my neighbours are going to hate me for all of the construction noise, I wanted to take a minute to put together a super easy Easter craft for you.

So easy, in fact, that whilst the builders were working downstairs, I grabbed some cardboard, markers, playdoh and my Cricut and put these together in half an hour.

Don't have a Cricut? No problem! I've put together a printable for you that you can print and cut yourself.

Let's get started! >>

Recipe: No Bake Cheesecake Filled Easter Eggs (Gluten Free!)

Gluten Free Easter Egg Cheesecakes Recipe - Easy Easter Dessert Ideas, Healthy Dessert Recipes, Gluten Free, Grain Free, Egg Free, No Bake Cheesecake in an Easter Egg

The perfect Easter Dessert Idea, this No Bake Cheesecake Filled Easter Egg Recipe is gluten free, grain free, egg free and SO easy to make. Simple and perfect for parties, kids and adults alike will love these fun treats.

I do not like eggs... unless I can't taste them.

Frittatas? I can sometimes do. But hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, boiled eggs? That's a big fat nope from me.

But chocolate eggs? You know I'm all for them.

So, this Easter, I decided to put a new spin on hardboiled eggs.... swapping chicken eggs for Easter eggs and filling my hollow Easter egg shells with a delicious cheesecake filling. Topped with caramel sauce, they look kind of like a hardboiled egg - but taste SO MUCH BETTER.

Gluten Free Easter Egg Cheesecakes Recipe - Easy Easter Dessert Ideas, Healthy Dessert Recipes, Gluten Free, Grain Free, Egg Free, No Bake Cheesecake in an Easter Egg

This is the perfect dessert to impress your friends and family this Easter.

They look impressive (especially if you serve them in individual egg cups with little spoons) - but take literally minutes to make.

Each of the eggs are filled with a no-bake cheesecake mix and then topped with a dollop of caramel sauce just before serving.

If you want to go the extra mile (or should that be egg-stra?), add some cookie crumbles to the bottom of each egg for the full cheesecake experience.

But enough chatting - you came for the recipe, right?!

Recipe: Foolproof Gluten Free Easter Sugar Cookies

Foolproof Easter Sugar Cookies Recipe Gluten Free Recipe - Easy Cream Cheese Cut Out Cookies, Gluten Free Sugar Cookies, Chocolate Dipped Cookies, Easter Dessert Idea

Foolproof Gluten Free Sugar Cookies Recipe for Easter – These cream cheese cut out cookies are so easy to make. Instead of messy frostings, dip them in melted chocolate and add sprinkles for a fun Easter Treat. Perfect for families or sharing with friends, this recipe is so simple even the kids can make them! Great for Easter parties, Valentine’s Day, Christmas or whatever occasion you fancy (just change the cookie cutter!).

Click to pin this recipe on Pinterest!

I always get so excited when Easter is on it's way because it's a season that combines all my favourite things.

Whilst it isn't Spring in Sydney, and the weather is getting colder each and every day - Easter means I get to lull myself into a false sense of Spring joy as I surround myself with sweet baby bunnies, tulips and all the stereotypical Spring Easter-y things.... oh and you can't forget the chocolate.

Easter and Christmas are my favourite times of the year - Jesus + Good Food + Cute Decor = Happy Kristy.

I especially love Christmas time because it means I can make ALLLL the Christmas cookies - but this year, I thought, why not make some Easter cookies?

Foolproof Easter Sugar Cookies Recipe Gluten Free Recipe - Easy Cream Cheese Cut Out Cookies, Gluten Free Sugar Cookies, Chocolate Dipped Cookies, Easter Dessert Idea

These Easter Egg Cookies are our pick for the Easter season. They are SO easy to make, seriously delicious to eat and perfect for sharing with friends or giving as a homemade gift.

If you feel like sugar cookies/cut out cookies are usually a disaster for you, DON'T WORRY! This recipe is pretty much foolproof (as long as you follow it!) and makes cookies that are soft and delicious.

The secret ingredient is the cream cheese. It adds so much flavour and turns a boring cookie into a family favourite. Sure, if you're a culinary goddess, you can decorate these with royal icing and get all fancy - but if you're a no-fuss kind of baker like me, the easiest (and most delicious) way to decorate these cookies is to dunk them into chocolate and cover them with sprinkles. But the choice on how you decorate them is totally up to you!

So let me share the recipe with you! >>

Recipe: Easy Gluten Free Ham and Cheese Strata

Easy Healthy Ham and Cheese Strata Recipe - gluten free, healthy, low fat, high protein, christmas leftovers, easter leftovers, clean eating recipe

Christmas time is my favourite time of year. The food, the family, the frivolity - but it also brings with it something I don't love... leftovers.

You see, whilst I'd never see remaining desserts as leftovers, I've never been a fan of savoury leftovers.

I'm the black sheep in my family because everyone else sees leftovers as a positive. But me? I see the mountains of leftover ham and bits and pieces boring and monotonous and bleh....

Well, I did... but this year, I see those leftovers as ingredients... because this recipe will totally change the way you think about leftovers.

Easy Healthy Ham and Cheese Strata Recipe - gluten free, healthy, low fat, high protein, christmas leftovers, easter leftovers, clean eating recipe

Perfect for using up extra bread or rolls and ham that always seems to be leftover after Christmas, this Ham and Cheese Strata Recipe is super versatile and super delicious.

We've been making it for breakfast and lunch and dinner for quite some time as it works well for just about every kind of meal.

Best of all? It's a recipe that's super easy to make - and you can make it in advance to reheat and eat later (or even freeze to reheat and eat later!) so it's an awesome meal prep recipe.

So let me share the recipe with you >>

Easy DIY Carrot Bubble Wands for Easter

Easy DIY Carrot Bubble Wands - Cheap Easter Gift Ideas and Crafts for Kids

Easter is fast approaching. I've been making and testing Healthy Carrot Cake Recipes like it's my job (which it should be... because that sounds like a delicious job).

A few years ago, around this time,  I was nannying and you would have found me madly rushing through Kmart and craft stores for different craft projects to fill in some time during the day with the kids I nannied.

Whilst I'm not nannying anymore, I love coming up with different projects - and this is one I thought I'd share with you for Easter. These "Carrot" Bubble Wands are a super cute gift idea or party favour - and they are so cheap and easy to make. We made ours for around $1 each - and making them only took a few minutes!

So let me show you how to make them! >>

Recipe: The Best Paleo Carrot Cake

The Best Healthy Paleo Carrot Cake Recipe – clean eating recipe, healthy, low carb, dairy free, soy free, sugar free, gluten free, grain free, paleo

Okay yes, I'm posting another carrot cake recipe.

But that's okay.... you know why? Because Easter is coming and that's pretty much the ultimate excuse to make all the carrot cake-y things in the world.

Usually I don't make whole cakes unless we're having people over because it just feels like a waste, however, last week I decided I needed to retest this recipe once again to share with you (truth: I may retest my recipes so many times before posting them solely because it means I get to eat them) and let me tell you, it totally changed my mind on the whole not-making-cakes-unless-we-have-company deal.

The Best Healthy Paleo Carrot Cake Recipe – clean eating recipe, healthy, low carb, dairy free, soy free, sugar free, gluten free, grain free, paleo Easter

Because in our house, cake doesn't get wasted.

Especially when said cake is as delicious as this one.

This Carrot Cake was completely devoured in two days. It never even had a chance of going to waste after we tasted the first slice.

It's moist and full of flavour and well... cream cheese frosting can do no wrongs in my books.

The Best Healthy Paleo Carrot Cake Recipe – clean eating recipe, healthy, low carb, dairy free, soy free, sugar free, gluten free, grain free, paleo

Best of all? It's super simple to make - and paleo friendly! Just choose the paleo "cream cheese" frosting route and you're a certified caveman.

Well... if cavemen had ovens and baking dishes... which they should have because no one deserves to miss out on cake.

So let me share the recipe with you! >>

Recipe: Gluten Free Hot Cross Bun Cookies (Lower Fat & Sugar!)

Healthy Hot Cross Bun Cookies Recipe - low fat, gluten free, healthy, easter cookies recipe, low fat, sugar free, low calorie dessert recipes

I love to bake and cook, however, there's one ingredient I hate to work with.... yeast.

I don't know what it is, but yeast and I just don't get along. The times I've managed to make something successfully with it have been a major fluke because the rest of the time, I end up frustrated and a throwing a whole batch of whatever in the bin because it just doesn't work the way I want to.

That, my friends, is the one of the reasons I'm sharing Hot Cross Bun Cookies with you today. The second and more important reason is because they're ridiculously delicious.

Healthy Hot Cross Bun Cookies Recipe - low fat, gluten free, healthy, easter cookies recipe, low fat, sugar free, low calorie dessert recipes

Hot Cross Buns are one of those Easter only foods for me. Even though you seem to be able to get Hot Cross Buns two seconds after Christmas has finished, they're something I only eat around Easter time.

I loveee the mix of warm and comforting spices and chewy sweet raisins and sultanas and that's exactly what I wanted to recreate... only, instead of a bun I wanted those things in a cookie.

Why? Well, because you can never go wrong with cookies, right?

Healthy Hot Cross Bun Cookies Recipe - low fat, gluten free, healthy, easter cookies recipe, low fat, sugar free, low calorie dessert recipes

These cookies are super soft and thick and fluffy and delicious and SO easy to make. There's a secret trick that makes them puffy and delicious and whilst they do require chilling (though you can skip that step - they just won't be as fluffy), they're really easy to make!

So let me share the recipe with you! >>

The True Story of Easter

This video was played during our church service this morning and Jesse and I thought it was so powerful that we had to share it with you.

Our Easter has been fab. Jesse's eaten all of his Easter chocolate, we had a lovely morning with our friends at church and then had a movie afternoon at home! And now we're planning on watching Frozen after dinner!

But tell me, how have you spent your Easter? Or if you're in the Northern Hemisphere, what do you have planned for today?!

Recipe: Hot Cross Bun Breakfast Bakes

I've always been a fan of hot cross buns. As a little girl, I'd beg Mum to buy Hot Cross Buns as soon as they hit the shelves of the grocery store (but I don't remember them being around from Christmas like they are now!) and I would have her buy me "Fruit Buns" from the local bakery as a special treat as I discovered they were hot cross buns just without the cross.

I think it's the mix of fruit and spices that I love the most because I also loveeee fruit cake. Juicy and slightly chewy sultanas, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.. yum yum yum.

Considering my hot cross bun love, it's only natural that I wanted to create my own version for Easter this year.

Whilst I've made traditional bread style hot cross buns before, I'm really lazy and hate kneading dough - so I cheated and went for the easy (and perhaps more delicious) route.

I created a Hot Cross Bun Breakfast Bake - because we all know how much this girl loves her breakfast bakes.

They're almost exactly the same as a hot cross bun - just a little softer and slightly more muffin like. On our first batch we didn't add quite enough raisins - so be generous! And I promise you, the cross is waaaaaaaaaaaay easier to make than you might think!

But let me give you the recipe!

Recipe: Healthy Homemade Peanut Butter Easter Eggs

Healthy Homemade Peanut Butter Swirl Chocolate Truffles Recipe - Gluten free, low fat, sugar free, clean eating friendly, healthy easter recipes

I promise and I deliver, my loves! Yesterday I teased you with a picture of these Homemade Easter Egg Truffles and today I'm sharing the recipe.

Now, this may be tooting my own horn a little... but this may just be the best Healthy Easter Recipe I have ever come up with. These Healthy Homemade Peanut Butter Swirl Easter Eggs are ridiculously good.

They won't last long because they'll be gobbled up in an instant, but they take 10 minutes to make so you won't mind making batch after batch.

Healthy Homemade Peanut Butter Swirl Easter Egg Truffles Recipe - Gluten free, low fat, sugar free, clean eating friendly, healthy easter recipes

As you may already know, I love me some peanut butter so naturally I wanted to create a Healthy Homemade Peanut Butter Easter Egg - but I wanted to make it a little prettier than normal.

So what I came up with was a Peanut Butter Swirl Easter Egg Truffle. We're calling them truffles because they're a little bit softer than normal chocolates. They melt in your mouth and wihofwiehfowiehf - sorry... I'll stop drooling on the keyboard.

Healthy Homemade Peanut Butter Swirl Easter Eggs Recipe - Gluten free, low fat, sugar free, clean eating friendly, healthy easter recipesThey also make awesome Homemade Easter Presents for friends as family as they're gluten free, vegan, healthy, low fat, sugar free and can even be made peanut/nut free if you switch the peanut butter for a different nut or seed butter.

Giving gifts to friends with allergies can be hard but this is one recipe that makes sure everyone can be included. Just make up a batch, pop them into a jar with a pretty ribbon and you're good to go.

And just in case you want to make them even prettier, I'm going to share some cute Free Easter Printables with you next week as well!

But let me give you the recipe! >>
